It will be the 10th anniversary in May 2013. I have had the pleasure of working directly with Luke for the past 17 months ☺
What distinguishes a Queensberry album from other brands?
The care and craftsmanship that goes into each handmade product, the level of artisanship, the dedication to quality and the passion, commitment and knowledge that have developed Queensberry albums and books for more than 40 years.
How long does it take to produce an album from start to finish?
Start to finish is about three to four weeks. The album has to pass through many quality checks along the way to achieve the highest standard of quality. We don’t cut corners.
Can you briefly describe the process of making an album?
Many hours go in to creating the perfect design for the couple from the beautiful images taken on the day. Queensberry takes the photographer’s design and brings it to life in an album or book. The design software that Queensberry developed is completely in sync with the Queensberry range, from cover material choices to printing and page formats. This ensures accurate instructions are received so we can begin making your album. After meticulously checking the order details, the files are then printed through Queensberry’s prolab and the alb
um begins its journey at the Queensberry bindery. The photographic prints are married up with the album during the multi-stage process and the album continues on through the checking process, heading towards completion. Watching digital files transform in to a beautiful handmade album is something else.
How many different types of albums do you offer?
Each and every album is unique, one of a kind. We have many cover material options and page systems to choose from. Whether it’s a traditional matted album with overlay mats or a smart pagemount style mat, or something more contemporary like a flushmount style, we have a page system and cover materials to compliment any style of wedding or event.
Where do you source your materials?
We select leathers from the finest tanneries, as well as the best manmade alternatives. Our papers and boards come from environmentally sustainable European mills. They’re made to our specifications to ensure their suitability for long-term photographic presentation, and textured to enhance the paper’s natural qualities.
Why has Queensberry gained such a solid reputation amongst photographers?
Heather and Ian established the business in 1969 and Heather is Queensberry’s Creative Director. Professional Photographers and Queensberry go hand in hand. We both want the same thing. To help tell your unique story, capture those cherished moments to remember forever.
Where do some of your clients hail from?
Worldwide… NZ of course because we’re local, Australia which is almost local, USA, Europe and Asia.

Building a rapport with your photographer
The words ‘candid’ and ‘natural’ appear frequently in today’s wedding photography industry, and both are crucial elements to capturing great wedding photos. Nothing is more important than building a trusting relationship with your photographer, and a great way to do that is by booking a pre wedding shoot.
